Chike G. Onyia, Esq.
Chike G. Onyia is the Chief Executive Officer of Zolts Limited, a human capital development company in Lagos, Nigeria. Chike is a California licensed attorney, specializing in labor and employment law. He is also a corporate coach/trainer and motivational speaker. Chike holds a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of West Los Angeles, School of Law, in Los Angeles California and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. He also has a Certificate of Achievement from Dale Carnegie & Associates, Inc. for meeting the standards for completion of the High Impact Presentations Coaching Session.
Chike, an eloquent orator, has a passion for helping people become successful in their professional and personal lives. He is an avid reader who believes that the skills necessary for success in the work place or in life must be formally taught. Recognizing that our academic knowledge alone does not guarantee success in life, he has become an advocate for a more holistic and pragmatic approach to educating people. Accordingly, as a facilitator and corporate trainer he always emphasizes the need for individuals to learn and practice the principles of success at work and in their everyday lives.
Chike was the lead faculty of Zolts Limited at the New Hire, New Managers and Mentoring programs for Oando, Plc in November 2009. Also, in April 2010, Chike was the lead faculty for Zolts Limited at the New Hire programs for Oando, Plc. Further, in May 2010, Chike facilitated training sessions for the Graduate Trainees at Oando, Plc. He also provided leadership training for the senior staff of the Enugu State Housing Development Corporation and the members of the executive council of the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Sullivan Chime in October 2009.
As a labor and employment litigation attorney, Chike gained vast experience during his employment at two firms in Los Angeles, Bolden & Martin, LLP and Martin & Martin, LLP. He commenced his career at Bolden & Martin, LLP as an associate litigation attorney and subsequently joined Martin & Martin, LLP where he became Managing Attorney of the civil litigation department.
Chike represented both employers and employees in labor and employment related matters, including, but not limited to, work-place harassment, retaliation, discrimination and wrongful termination. His clients in labor and employment and other civil litigation matters included municipalities, corporations, a Los Angeles fast food chain, senior level managers and private individuals. Chike was the chairperson of Martin & Martin, LLP’s ethics committee and member of its training committee. As managing attorney of the civil litigation department at Martin & Martin, LLP, Chike frequently conducted training sessions as part of the Firm’s strategic employee development process. Also, as head of the department, Chike was charged with various human capital development matters including, but not limited to, hiring the right personnel, training, performance management, retention and career development.
